BISTRO CAFE

Status- in process

We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Gradient and Ormerod Sutton architectural studios on the design of a proposed Greek café located within Selby’s designated heritage area.
Given the site’s historical significance, all exterior alterations were approached with sensitivity and precision. The façade was carefully restored, and bench seating was added to enhance both the streetscape and the experience for café patrons—contributing to the broader public realm.
In contrast to the restrained exterior, the interior design adopts a more contemporary and forward-looking approach. Advanced materials and modern design elements were used to create a clean, almost futuristic environment, which stands in deliberate contrast to the surrounding historic brickwork and tiled architecture visible through the windows.
The café’s large windows frame views of the adjacent town park and heritage buildings, establishing a compelling dialogue between tradition and modernity. This visual interplay enriches the atmosphere and reflects the evolving character of the town.
