The restoration and adaptive reuse of entrance arches Friendship Park was undertaken by the Tuff Foundation. In collaboration with Pomp_and_Circumstance_Lab we aimed to preserve the historical value of the structure while granting it a new purpose for contemporary use.The leading role of the element is emphasized by the symmetrical arrangement of landscaping and paving relative to the arches.
The texture of the concrete on the outer and inner surfaces of the arches differs: outside, polished concrete of a single shade is used, while inside — textured concrete.
The space inside each arch, with the suspension of the lost bells, becomes a place for temporary art installations, for which it is proposed to invite local artists.
